It is unfortunate that there are so many people advertising their services as team building experts without knowing the first thing about team dynamics. They see these exercises as short holidays that require nothing but the booking of a venue and the organizing of entertainment. Companies should therefore be very careful when employing the services of an event organizer. Care should be taken to choose someone with a proven track record.

Because team building exercises are organized for such a large variety of reasons, it is also important to employ a contractor that is qualified and experienced in helping teams to achieve the goals relevant to a specific intervention. Many team building professionals specialize in very specific areas, such as communication or conflict management. Getting the right organizer and leader can make all the difference.

Team building exercise can be extremely expensive. It is therefore important for clients to make sure that they will get value for their money. To this end it is necessary to insist that the organizer submit a proposal that details every aspect of the event, including his exact plans for achieving the objectives of the exercise.
